Art taking shape & Our city is wreaked: Christchurch in pictures
A closeup of the wonderful Tjalling is innocent – the new Christchurch Art Gallery Outer Spaces work on the back of COCA, Worcester Street. Phantom Billstickers printed 612 A0 sheets, each unique. “Stunning viewing from Worcester Boulevard, it is also worth a closer inspection, as an intriguing selection of images reveal themselves through rips and tears in each of five paper layers.” It looks like a familiar Christchurch City Libraries heritage map/plan, but which one? Tuesday 28 August 2012. (Update: After a bit of cartographical detective work, I reckon it’s the famous 1850 Black Map of Christchurch).
